FLOW STATE x WILLIAM MORRIS GALLERY
Flow State at the William Morris Gallery is a monthly studio session that uses art for wellbeing. ‘Flow’ is the mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of focus, involvement, and enjoyment in the process.
Sessions focus on play and experimentation using a range of art materials, with new art techniques taught every month. No experience in art is needed to take part.
I designed the pilot project in 2024, later joined by fellow art therapist Jen Raingold. We are currently in the 3rd year of the project and continue to run a studio at the gallery for locals with experiences of mental health issues. The aim is to provide a gentle, holistic and nurturing space for creativity, mind and body.
Flow State is funded for 3 years from 2024 - 2027. If you live in Waltham Forest and would like to attend, please contact Christine Lai, Public Programme Curator on christine.lai@walthamforest.gov.uk
